Silicone Covers: Easier For You and Your Food to Stay Healthy
I recently wrote an article for the Yellow.co Blog about how to reduce plastic and have a cleaner kitchen. You can read it HERE. I reminded me that there are simple things we can do every day that are better for our health, the environment and the food we are eating. Talk about a win-win-win.
While there are many ways to preserve food. Keeping them in glass is by far my favorite. But for keeping opened items that don’t have a top silicone is by far the most effective in my opinion. Another option you will see out there is beeswax wrap (and I even mention it in the article), but if I am being honest I do not think they last as long, are worth the money or work as well as these silicone covers. Here are some basic reasons that saying no to plastic is better for your health:

While we have come a long way by removing BPA (a known endocrine disrupter) from plastics, the jury is still out on the replacement and it’s safety.
Just do it! Your food stays fresher longer, you can reuse forever making it easy on your wallet and your fridge will look so much prettier!
