Splendid Spoon: Plant Based Meal Delivery
Splendid Spoon makes having a plant-based meal easy. I was so excited to read more on their story because it was obvious to me that there was more to it the than the meal subscriptions. Throughout the Splendid Spoon story is a mission of sustainability. They have owned the progress not perfection approach since launching and have worked hard to make all packaging 100% recyclable! Nicole, the Founder, has a long relationship with food (read more HERE), but when she was pregnant she needed constant sources of nutrition and started making her own plant based soups. She saw the spoon as a healing tool in her relationship with food and focused on stocking her fridge with these soups. This meant that for at least one meal a day so she didn’t have to think about how to get the nutrients she needed. She believed that “one simple change could heal her relationship with food.”
To be honest, meal delivery services normally don’t appeal to me because I automatically assume I am going to get trapped in a subscription I don’t want. Splendid Spoon makes it easy to edit your preferences to skip a week or cancel by sending reminder emails. I also love their mission of simply having plant based options around. They aren’t trying to replace every meal, but instead you choose what you want. Whether you want a week to reset or you just need a lower sugar smoothie option for the morning, Splendid Spoon has you covered. The options are:
Breakfast (5 smoothies)
Breakfast + Lunch + Reset (5 smoothies, 5 bowls and 5 soups)
Breakfast + Lunch (5 smoothies and 5 bowls)
Every single item I have tasted has been delicious and filling. The smoothies have been tiding me over in the afternoons and I have been enjoying the bowls for lunch. (Note: the soups are low in calories and really light because they are meant as a reset function. They recommend having one day where you eat all five soups to reset your body or have them around as a healthy option throughout the day.)
You can try Splendid Spoon HERE and get $10 off. With over 40 recipes you can choose from, free shipping and non GMO ingredients (mostly organic) it’s a no brainer!
