Four Must Haves for Winter Skin

Four Must Haves for Winter Skin

With changing seasons should come an update in your skincare routine. I don’t know about you, but as soon as it turned fall I could feel it in my skin and knew I needed more moisture and hydration into my routine. Here are four must haves for winter skin:

1. Trade your normal toner out for a Nourishing Rosewater Mist. This is the first step I took for winter per my facialist at Heyday Skincare. While toning is an important step for reducing pore size and clearing discoloration, many can be stripping to the skin’s natural oils. It is important to help support this while adding extra hydration all winter long. Bonus: find one with hyaluronic acid like THIS ONE to really lock in moisture and boost hydration.

2. Use a Hydrating Face Oil either as a serum or to bump up your moisturizer. Face oils can be an excellent step for pumping up your skincare by providing deep benefits or even treating certain skin types. My favorite way to apply face oil is to put 2-3 drops in the palm of my hand and press onto face after moisturizer. Well, if I’m being honest it’s more like 6-8 drops at night. I love THIS ONE because I think I could drink up the jasmine in it! The No. 2 Plumping Face Oil is a blend of seven oils to moisturize and firm the skin. Goodbye fine lines!

3. Add a hydrating overnight mask in the form of a Cleansing Balm a few times a week. A good Cleansing Balm can save you so many steps and really be a miracle pot for many skincare uses like: cleansing and removing makeup, hydrating and brightening overnight mask (and on long flights), moisturizing dry skin patches, healing burns or scars. I like THIS ONE because my face soaks it right up and it does not leave any grease on my pillow case at all. Also, this is key when getting to bed after a long holiday party. Lazy girls unite! As a part of Beautycounter’s Holiday collection there is a social limited edition one that is larger at a great price! See it HERE. I can’t wait to repurpose the jar already! Bonus Tip: use this as your AM cleanser on a dry face for a gentle clean.

4. This is an obvious one, but make sure you have that Lip Conditioner in your bag and on your bedside table. Even though it is still hot in LA, I swear the day it turned fall my lips dried right up! Bonus: up your water intake to help this as well. I like THIS ONE because the peppermint is super cooling and gives my lips a lovely natural shine. I always get compliments when I wear it.
